In the early morning hours they could see the fog rising from the water. There was a chill in the air. The water was frigid. As they approached the edge, they sensed the impending doom. A man yelled, “get in!” As they plunged, their screams filled the air. Today, a new champion would be born.
55 Fiction was a short assignment to get us thinking about how to tell a story using only what is needed and leaving the rest up to the reader to interpret.
The Challenge:
Tell an entire story in exactly 55 words, no more, no less.
The Rules:
Write a fiction or non-fiction story that only contains 55 words, no more, no less. The title of the story does not count against the 55 word count. There was a 1 hour time limit to write the story. The story must also contain a setting, and one or more characters.
